Metropolitan Chorale Auditions

The Metropolitan Chorale invites experienced choral singers to audition for our 2026-27 season. We will be running auditions on Wednesday, 8/26 and Thursday, 8/27 from 6:00 – 8:30 PM at First Parish in Brookline.

The Metropolitan Chorale is a 100-voice auditioned chorus that is recognized as one of Metro Boston’s premier choral ensembles. In addition to musical excellence, the Chorale is known for its camaraderie and diverse programming. We are a welcoming and inclusive ensemble, committed to creating an environment where every member of our community feels valued and respected.

Our 2026-27 season will offer four concert cycles culminating in performances in November, March, April and May. Our Pops Choir (an auditioned ensemble) will join the Boston Pops, under the direction of Keith Lockhart for a series of holiday concerts throughout New England in December.

The Chorale rehearses in Brookline at the Driscoll School (725 Washington Street) on Tuesdays from 7-9:30 PM.

What to expect at your audition:
– There will be a collaborative pianist at your audition.
– Sing standard vocalises to hear range.
– Sing back melodic patterns.
– Sing back top/middle/bottom note in a chord.
– Sightread a choral excerpt, you sing your part, collaborative pianist plays the others.
– Perform a solo (optional). Please send a PDF of the music to admin@metropolitanchorale.org before your audition.
