Last season Stephanie Hollenberg performed the role of Gretel (Hänsel und Gretel) at the Music Academy International Trentino Festival in Italy, as well appearing as Leonora (The Beautiful Bridegroom, MassOpera), the step-sister Marguelonne (Cendrillon, Cambridge Chamber Ensemble), and as the understudy of Zerlina (Don Giovanni, NEMPAC).  She was also a finalist of the 2018 MassOpera Vocal Competition.  Previously, Ms. Hollenberg has sung the role of Holly (Rapture, Boston Opera Collaborative), Papagena (Die Zauberflöte, MAI Trentino Festival), an Esprit (Cendrillon, MAI Trentino Festival), Tibrino (Orontea, Haymarket Summer Opera Course), Sandman (Hansel & Gretel, Longy School of Music), Eva (An Embarrassing Position, Longy), and Dido (Dido & Aeneas, Goshen College).  She has sung under the direction of David Gately, Anne Azéma, Greg Smucker, Ophelia Wolf, and with conductors Neil Goren, and Christopher Larkin.

Along with her beautiful voice and sensitive musicality, Ms. Hollenberg brings a gentle and captivating presence informed by her passion for religion and spirituality, and her upbringing in a pacifist tradition.  Having received a B.A. in Bible & Religion, she has a keen interest in ecumenism and has spent significant time with the Taizé Community (France) and the Iona Community (Scotland).  She has brought the traditions home, regularly leading church services that use liturgy and song from both Iona and Taizé.  Her interest in other spiritual traditions has also taken her to Colombia, Morocco, and Cambodia

Stephanie is a student of Jeanne-Michèle Charbonnet.
