Apply to FUSE!
Boston Singers’ Resource and Catalyst New Music are joining forces again to bring you the third annual FUSE: Collaborations in Song! FUSE is a uniquely collaborative song-development program for singers, composers, and writers that will result in the creation of amazing new songs that are tailor-made for the singers who will give their world-premiere performance.
We will be assembling five artist trios, each comprised of a singer, composer, and writer, who will together explore themes of mutual interest to develop brand new songs for a total of 8-12 minutes of music.
- Artists with a collaborative spirit are strongly encouraged to apply, and we are committed to lifting up the voices of those who have been historically excluded from the creative process.
Instrumentation must be for one singer and piano only.
Singers must be fully learned, memorized, and off-book for the performance.
Guidance and input from artistic staff at Boston Singers' Resource and Catalyst New Music will be available as desired.
All artists will be expected to attend the virtual Meet & Greet on Sunday, March 23, from 2-4pm EDT.
All artists will be provided with a professional recording of the final recital performance. Composers and writers are encouraged but not required to attend in person. We unfortunately cannot provide travel/housing stipends at this time.
Singers must live in New England and members of Boston Singers' Resource will be prioritized. JOIN BSR!
Complete our application by March 7, 2025, at midnight to be considered, and don't forget to hit SUBMIT at the end! You will hear from us by the end of the day on March 9. Please hold Sunday, March 23 from 2:00pm-4:00pm EDT in your calendar, as the virtual Meet & Greet is required for all FUSE artists. Singers must also be available for the dress rehearsal on September 27 from 3:00-5:00pm and the sound check and performance on September 28 from 1:00-5:00pm on September 28. (Composers and poets encouraged to attend)
