Jeannette Lee
Hong Kong mezzo-soprano Jeannette Lee is a sought-after versatile performer.
Her operatic roles include Cherubino in Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro, Orlofsky in J. Strauss’ Die Fledermaus, Fox in Janáček’s The Cunning Little Vixen, Hänsel in Humperdinck’s Hänsel und Gretel, Hermia in Britten’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Jeannette was selected to take part in the New England Conservatory Outreach Opera to perform as Grandmother in Barab’s Little Red Riding Hood and toured across various elementary schools across Boston. She was also recently engaged to reprise her role as Hänsel with Saltworks Opera (Virginia, USA) earlier this year.
As a concert soloist, Jeannette was the only invited solo artist performed with the internet sensation TwoSet Violin with Hong Kong Festival Orchestra in their debut concert in 2017. She has also performed Händel’s Messiah with Masterworks Chorale (Boston, USA), Monteverdi’s Marienvesper with Lautten Compagney (Berlin), Bach’s BWV70 with Hong Kong SingFest, and Schoenberg’s Pierrot Lunaire with the CUHK New Music Ensemble (Hong Kong).
Jeannette graduated from The Chinese University of Hong Kong double majoring in English and Music (First Class Honors). During her time there, she was a recipient of numerous accolades such as the China Soong Ching Ling Foundation Gucci Timepieces & Jewelry Fund and the Hong Kong Children’s Choir Scholarship, as well as a Distinction candidate of Licentiate Performance Diploma in Singing from the Trinity College of London. She is currently in her final year studying at New England Conservatory with the generous support of the prestigious Hong Kong Jockey Club Music and Dance Fund.
