Jade Espina
An Arkansas native, mezzo-soprano Jade Espina is a voice teacher and classical singer in the Boston area. She recently completed he graduate studies at Boston University, where she pursued a Master of Music in Voice Performance as a student of Penelope Bitzas. She holds a Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance and Bachelor of Music Education-Choral Emphasis from the University of Colorado-Boulder, where she earned her Initial Colorado Teaching Licensure in K-12 Music Education. She has performed with multiple programs such as the Miami Music Festival Apprentice Program, Chicago Summer Opera, Up North Vocal Institute, Music & Performing Arts Renaissance in the XXI Century Study Abroad Program in Florence, Italy, CU Boulder New Opera Workshop with Jake Heggie and Gene Scheer, and Brevard Music Festival.
Ms. Espina is currently a virtual artist with Promenade Opera Project in their episodic digital production of Beethoven's "Fidelio," singing the role of Don Fernando and with Due Donne Productions in their Animal Crossing adaptation of "Cendrillon" by Jules Massenet, singing the role of Prince Charmant for the fall 2020 virtual season. She has recently performed in NEMPAC Opera Project's Summer 2020 Tresca Balcony Series. She is on the Voice and Piano Staff at both 77 Arts Academy in Acton and Maestro Musicians Academy in Lexington. Ms. Espina is also a full-time elementary music teacher with Framingham Public Schools for the 2020-2021 school year, where she will be teaching general music, strings, and band across four different schools in the district.
