Walnut Hill School for the Arts presents the opera "Cendrillon," performed by an all-female cast of our exceptional high school classical voice majors. The all-female representation includes a string quartet of Music Majors, and four featured Dance Majors from Walnut Hill's Boston Ballet pre-professional program. Led by Stage Director and Head of Voice, Teresa Winner Blume, with Music Director Elaine Smith-Purcell, and Conductor Stephanie Beatrice. Ballroom choreography by Melinda Sullivan. Costume design by Danielle Domingue-Sumi. Music and original French text of this opera written by Pauline Viardot in 1906. English translation by Rachel M. Harris.
Audiences of all ages will enjoy this version of Cinderella, based on the well-known French tale by Charles Perrault. Run time is 1 hr. Sung in English, with English text surtitles for accessibility.
