Earl Kim's Exercises en Route for soprano & chamber ensemble
Company: Chameleon Arts Ensemble
Chameleon Arts Ensemble opens its 2024-2025 chamber music season with Earl Kim's "Exercises en Route" featuring soprano, Mary Mackenzie.
About the Program:
Interior passion meets exterior beauty in a program of poetic resonance, legacy, and memory. Earl Kim’s “Exercises en Route” for soprano and chamber ensemble examines the passage of time and the nature of our existence through the arresting poetry of Samuel Beckett. Kim’s teachers, Bloch and Schoenberg, share miniatures twilight journeys of color and character with Three Nocturnes for piano trio and “A Rendezvous.” Composed in the final weeks of his life, Schubert’s Cello Quintet closes the circle on our exercises in living, remembering, and feeling.
Saturday, October 5 at 7:30 PM and Sunday, October 6 at 4 PM.
