Music for the End Times
Sopranos Rachel Hanauer and Caroline Spaeth will present their joint recital “Music For the End Times,” a program of contemporary classical works, at the Ryan Concert Hall at the Smith Center of the Arts at Providence College on February 20, 2022 at 4 PM. A reprise of the program will occur at Providence’s AS220 at 95 Empire St. 7:30 PM on February 25, 2022.
The first part of the program will feature Spaeth performing György Ligeti’s "Mysteries of the Macabre" with Caroline Ly on piano. Hanauer stage directs the piece. The second half will feature Hanauer singing Lori Laitman’s “In Sleep the World is Yours” with Crikkett Young on oboe and Nathaniel Baker on piano. The program will culminate with a contemporary musical theater duet offering.
