Opera51 presents Mozart's Don Giovanni in concert

Opera51 is proud to present Mozart's dramma giocoso (the original operatic dramedy) to a libretto by Lorenzo da Ponte. The story is based on Tirso de Molina's tale of the licentious Spanish nobleman Don Juan, and in a series of magnificent arias and ensembles, the opera depicts the Don's frustrated attempts to seduce Donna Anna, Donna Elvira, and Zerlina, and his ultimate hellfire-laden comeuppance.

Mozart's masterpiece will be performed in a concert version, with numbers sung in Italian with English supertitles and orchestra. Recitatives will be presented as English language dialogue after the translation by Adrienne Schizzano Mandel and Oscar Mandel.
