Sing Into Spring: A Choral Perspective

Marlborough, MA – The Assabet Valley Chambersingers proudly presents Sing Into Spring: A Choral Perspective, a captivating choral concert to be held on Sunday, April 6, 2025, at 3:00 PM at First Church in Marlborough Congregational, 37 High St., Marlborough, MA. This uplifting and diverse program is offered as a “Pay What You Wish” event, made possible in part by a generous grant from the Marlborough Cultural Council, supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency.
Under the artistic direction of Robert Eaton, the program will feature an eclectic selection of choral works designed to entertain, inspire, and provoke reflection. Highlights include:
• Renaissance madrigals that explore the lighter side of romance
• Traditional American folk songs arranged by Aaron Copland
• Musical settings of poetry by James Agee, Rudyard Kipling, and Mother Teresa
• Vocal jazz selections
• Timely and thought-provoking songs by Lennon & McCartney and Bob Dylan
This carefully curated program will take audiences on a journey through time and emotion, blending historical and contemporary themes that resonate with today’s world.
The Assabet Valley Chambersingers is a 20-voice ensemble drawn from the Assabet Valley Mastersingers that specializes in performing a diverse repertoire such as unaccompanied and accompanied madrigals, motets, Broadway show tunes, and vocal Jazz standards from various eras. Founded in 1988 as a civic outreach initiative, the Chambersingers have delighted audiences throughout the greater Worcester area, performing at cultural events, libraries, assisted living facilities, and other popular venues.
The Assabet Valley Mastersingers has been a cornerstone of the Central Massachusetts music scene since its founding in 1978, presenting masterful choral-orchestral works with professional orchestras and soloists. The ensemble is known for its innovative programming, including world premieres, contemporary compositions, and fresh interpretations of classical masterpieces.
