World Premiere for soprano & chamber ensemble by Laura Schwendinger
Company: Chameleon Arts Ensemble
Chameleon Arts Ensemble presents a world premiere for soprano and chamber ensemble by Laura Schwendinger.
About the Program:
Fauré’s second piano quintet is a graceful summation of his life’s work, with equal parts youthful enchantment and autumnal wisdom. Sir Richard Rodney Bennett reanimates Debussy’s nymph with “After Syrinx” for oboe and piano, Messiaen reflects on birds and rainbows with his Piece for piano quintet, and Ravel’s early violin sonata hangs in the air like perfume hinting at his ravishing colors to come. Laura Schwendinger muses on themes of birth, death, and transfiguration in a brand-new work for soprano, flute, clarinet, violin, cello, piano, and percussion for our technicolor visions of the never-ending cycle of life.
Saturday, April 5 at 7:30 PM and Sunday, April 6 at 4 PM.
