Caroline Murrah, CCC-SLP, is a voice-specialized speech pathologist who specializes in professional voice and singing voice rehabilitation. Beyond these specialties, she is experienced in treating the full spectrum of voice and upper airway disorders. Prior to joining Tufts Medical Center, Caroline ran a private practice in NYC, Cadence Vocal Wellness, dedicated to the treatment and prevention of voice disorders in performers. Caroline graduated Magna Cum Laude from Baldwin Wallace University with a Bachelor of Music in Musical Theatre with Voice Emphasis. Following graduation, she performed in the Broadway National Tour of the musical Fun Home, where she became interested in helping performers prevent and manage voice issues. Caroline then went on to earn a Master of Science in Communication Disorders at Emerson College, here in Boston. She completed a clinical fellowship at the University of Rochester Medicine Voice Center, where she specialized in treating the performing voice and worked closely with Dr. O’Connell. Pursuing an interest in the mind-body connection, Caroline has taken advanced coursework in areas of chronic pain and the impact of stress and trauma on physical health. She hopes to explore increased collaboration with professionals in the field of psychology to find ways to better support patients dealing with complex emotions or life circumstances that may be impacting their vocal health or response to treatment.
